UltraOblique is a collective.
We make title sequences with a focus on craft, process and typography.
With a rich history working together and individually, we combine design and direction experience with VFX, animation and editing expertise to create unique visual content for film, TV, music and more.
Diverse backgrounds mean our thinking can be a little outside the frame. For us, each project is an opportunity to create something original, rather than polishing a studio style.
Our flexible setup lets us assess each job on its own merits, from Hollywood blockbuster to indie documentary.
UltraOblique has 3 core members. We bring in additional expertise as required.
Jon Hollis is a director, editor and visual effects artist with an impressive CV spanning film, TV and advertising, alongside the launch and running of consecutive industry defining companies. Jason Kedgley and Dylan Kendle have extensive experience within music, film, advertising and branding. Both have worked as heads of department and grafted on the studio floor. Meeting at Tomato as young designers, the pair’s debut film project – the titles for Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting – got them shortlisted for designer of the year, and they’ve collaborated regularly ever since.
